The Presidential candidate of the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 General Elections extended his meeting with US Government Officials to associates President Donald Trump who are members of the US Congress.
A Spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Osita Chidoka, who is on the US visit with Atiku, revealed that before his off record meeting at the US Chamber, Atiku paid a visit to Chris Smith, a member of Trump’s Republican Party, representative of New Jersey in the Congress, currently serving his 20th term in office.
Osita Chidoka is further disclosed that Atiku also met Micheal McCaul, the Homeland Security Committee Chairman at the US Congress.
Both congressmen are renowned political associates of the US President, who are known to always support his policies in the US Congress.
Atiku was said to have spoken to the US Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
Former Vice President Atiku had arrived the US on Thursday, January 17, 2019, after 13 years. He has held series of consultative meetings with notable stakeholders in the business community, including Nigerian citizens resident in the US, discussing new investment opportunities and how to make Nigeria work again.
The Opposition PDP Presidential candidate traveled to the US with the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and others. The former Vice President on Friday explained his mission for the visit to the US.
